Meet the owners Ilana Rubin and Tony Fan. Seattle's longest-running Saturday night Tango social dance with awesome music, elegant decoration, tasty desserts, and a friendly atmosphere! tango has been an integral part of the Dance Underground dance program since the beginning.
Thursday Evening Classes with Tony & Ilana:
7:00 PM - 8:00 PM - Tango 1 (Beginner / Intermediate)
8:05 PM - 9:05 PM - Tango 2 (Intermediate / Advanced)
$110 for an 8-week class series. $20 drop-in.
Thursday Night Practica:
9:15 PM - 11:30 PM
$10 (Except for Special Events). Rotating DJs.
Saturday Night Milonga:
8:30 PM - 12:00 AM
$15 (Except for Special Events). Rotating DJs.
Ilana Rubin and Tony Fan bring to the tango a lifelong interest in dance. They were both trained in ballet and modern dance and bring to tango an exciting, accessible, individual style. Ilana's extensive dance training includes modern dance with Martha Nishitani, as well as ballet and folk dancing. She performed for five years with Radost, Seattle's premiere folk dance ensemble. Tony started his dance career studying modern ballet before he discovered the Argentine tango. Tony has also studied tango in Europe. Tony and Ilana have been dancing the Argentine tango together for over eighteen years. The beauty of their movement comes from their maturity in the dance, strong connection, and deep respect for the music. Together, they have studied with such notable dancers: Juan Bruno, Susanna Miller, Julio Balmaceda and Corina de la Rosa, Osvaldo Zotto and Lorena Ermocida, Esteban Moreno and Claudia Codega, Gabriel Angio and Natalia Games, Graciela Gonzalez , Daniela Arcuri and Armando, and Omar Vega.
